Sebastian Glatt de la Universitatea Jagielloniana din Cracovia au f\u0103cut o descoperire \u00een ceea ce prive\u0219te ataxia cerebeloas\u0103. Dr. Kojic este de p\u0103rere c\u0103 ataxiile cerebeloase sunt cauzate de deteriorarea cerebelului, partea creierului care controleaz\u0103 func\u021bia motorie.<\/p>\n<p>Ataxia define\u015fte acel simptom neurologic care \u00eel face pe individ\u00a0incapabil s\u0103-\u0219i coordoneze mi\u015fc\u0103rile musculare. Cei afecta\u0163i de ataxie nu \u00ee\u015fi pot st\u0103p\u00e2ni mu\u015fchii membrelor, \u00eent\u00e2mpin\u00e2nd\u00a0probleme de echilibru, coordonare \u015fi de mers. Dintre p\u0103r\u0163ile corpului, pot fi afectate de ataxie:\u00a0membrele superioare \u015fi inferioare, degetele, corpul, fa\u0163a \u015fi chiar \u015fi ochii, afect\u00e2nd printre altele mi\u015fc\u0103rile, vorbirea, mi\u015fc\u0103rile oculare \u015fi degluti\u0163ia\u00a0(\u00eenghi\u0163irea). Ataxia este folosit\u0103 pentru a descrie simptomul de \u00eencoordonare care poate \u00eenso\u0163i infec\u0163iile, leziunile, boli diverse \u015fi\/sau modific\u0103rile degenerative ale sistemului nervos central. Multe afec\u0163iuni pot determina ataxie: abuzul de alcool, accidentele vasculare cerebrale, tumori, neuropatia periferic\u0103, tulbur\u0103ri metabolice, deficien\u0163e de vitamine, paralizia cerebral\u0103 \u015fi scleroza multipl\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>\u201ePentru prima dat\u0103, am g\u0103sit o leg\u0103tur\u0103 \u00eentre ataxie \u0219i o muta\u021bie a genei elongator, care reglementeaz\u0103 modul \u00een care celulele creierului produc proteine\u201d, a afirmat dr. Marija Kojic de la Universitatea din Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>Oamenii de \u0219tiin\u021b\u0103 au descoperit c\u0103 aceast\u0103 muta\u021bie \u00eencetine\u0219te produc\u021bia de proteine \u200b\u200bpe care neuronii trebuie s\u0103 o \u00eendeplineasc\u0103. Echipa a descoperit, de asemenea, o leg\u0103tur\u0103 \u00eentre inflamarea celulelor creierului \u0219i degenerarea creierului. Rezultatele studiilor au demonstrat c\u0103 blocarea acestei inflama\u021bii a \u00eencetinit rata la care celulele au murit.
